Open Letter to Australian Prime Minister

Open Letter to Australian Prime Minister

We believe this case represents something of a watershed, with implications that extend beyond Mr Assange and WikiLeaks. In many parts of the globe, death threats routinely silence those who would publish or disseminate controversial material. If these incitements to violence against Mr Assange, a recipient of Amnesty International’s Media Award, are allowed to stand, a disturbing new precedent will have been established in the English-speaking world.

Brussels Declaration on Scientific Integrity - Full text and initial signatories

Brussels Declaration on Scientific Integrity - Full text and initial signatories

"In the global crusade against alcohol, tobacco, and “unhealthy” foods, health politicians have drawn on alleged scientific evidence that does not adequately meet minimal scientific standards. The following Declaration reminds us of these standards. The Declaration also calls upon politicians to avoid abusing questionable statements by selected and sometimes quite biased “experts” in order to deprive people of their free lifestyle choices. A prohibitionist society cannot be a free society!"

Is there anything that some special interest group or some government agency doesn’t want to forbid you from eating, driving, wearing, using, and enjoying? We live surrounded by a multitude of “thou shalt not’s.”

Big Brother Britain has grown out of all proportion
Britain’s surveillance culture has been expanded out of all proportion to any threats we face – and it’s getting worse, says Alex Deane, director of Big Brother Watch and former chief of staff to David Cameron.

Freedom-2-Choose: DUTCH REFLECTIONS

Dutch Reflections
Again I cannot heap enough praise on the Dutch for attacking their ban with a zeal and gusto that puts us Brits to shame. It has shown us Brits to be complete namby-pamby’s when faced with adversity of such magnitude!

GlaxoSmithKline Continues Defrauding Smokers

"Imagine corporate greed so great that it's willing to lie in attempting to destroy all remaining smoker confidence in their own natural quitting instincts, to quit smoking cold turkey."

Are Diesels More Dangerous than Cigarettes as a Cause of Lung Cancer? - Second Opinions, UK

Are Diesels More Dangerous than Cigarettes as a Cause of Lung Cancer? - Second Opinions, UK

"The real cause of lung cancer, according to another Oxford research scientist, Dr. Kitty Little, is diesel fumes. And the evidence here is much more persuasive. It includes the facts that:
  • tobacco smoke contains no carcinogens, while diesel fumes contain four known carcinogens;
  • that lung cancer is rare in rural areas, but common in towns;
  • that cancers are more prevalent along the routes of motorways;
  • that the incidence of lung cancer has doubled in non-smokers over past decades;
  • and that there was less lung cancer when we, as a nation, smoked more."
"Since the effect of the anti-smoking campaign has been to prevent the genuine cause from being publicly acknowledged, there is a very real sense in which we could say that the main reason for those 30,000 deaths a year from lung cancer is the anti-smoking campaign itself".- Dr Kitty Little

Supranational Banking Scam to Disarm Britain | UK Column

Supranational Banking Scam to Disarm Britain | UK Column

"The lie is that we, as a Nation, are bankrupt and therefore we must suffer massive public sector spending cuts to our military and public services in order to help balance the books. The lie is simple, but it is still a lie. Britain is not bankrupt. The International Banks are bankrupt and have hung their £6 trillion of debt around the neck of the British Nation."

Occasional smokers keeping hazy illusion of fun alive - The Irish Times - Mon, Nov 01, 2010
"Politicians, pop stars and, god forbid, top footballers all ensure the demon weed is back with a bang

SMOKING IS back. It hadn’t gone away, you know. It’s not even true to say that smoking had become unfashionable, because almost every single person working in fashion smokes. Young women remained touchingly enthusiastic about nicotine through its darkest hours."
